Mission Statement
"The Parkland Regional Development Corporation works for the municipalities, communities and organizations in the Parkland region. The PRDC will identify, coordinate and support Parkland’s regional economic development activities. PRDC will do this through enhancing current sub-regional and community economic development efforts and working towards fulfilling unmet needs of the Parkland region".
The Parkland Regional Development Corporation (PRDC) is....
a provincially funded and a membership based organization. The PRDC will support municipalities, communities and organizations in the Parkland region working together for regional economic development. The primary focus of the PRDC is to provide financial and consultative support to projects that are supported by multiple municipalities in the Parkland region.
SUPPORT to COMMUNITY PROJECTS
Thirteen (13) projects were supported in 2007. These grants were provided to projects that benefit at least 3 municipalities/ communities and provided nearly $115,000 in funds which were matched by non-provincial cash contributions of over $350,000 along with $137,000 with in-kind contributions.
In 2008, two (2) projects have been funded so far with two more grant intakes (June 15 and October 24).
Since the PRDC began its funding program in 2005, 27 projects have been funded and supported. Up to the end of December 2007, $190,959 has been provided by the PRDC with the project partners contributing $594,861. .
